There are hundreds of web design blogs out there, many of which are incredibly useful. Here are 5 that I don’t know what I’d do without:
Minervity
One of my favourite design blogs ever. It’s written by the endlessly energetic Richard Darell and consists of a combination of incredibly useful tutorials and sources of inspiration. Well worth checking out!
Design Shack
I’ve lost count of the number of individual posts I’ve bookmarked from Design Shack. They seem to be constantly producing incredibly useful posts. LOTS of free design resources, mixed in with a generous helping of news, tutorials and inspiration.
Colorburned
Another great source of free graphics, brushes and vectors. So good you can forgive them for spelling “colour” incorrectly!! ;-)
Instant Shift
A useful blog with a wide variety of posts, often providing perspective from outside the “design world”. Applications, case studies, resources and inspiration for designers can all be found scattered around.
Smashing Magazine
This one requires absolutely no introduction and I realise it’s probably not the most useful of suggestions, since you’ve probably found Smashing Magazine a long time before you found this blog BUT I couldn’t not mention it (double negative intended grammar police).
