World’s Worst Website? February 2010 – bermuda-triangle.org

Bermuda Triangle

I’m sure most people over the age of maybe 25 felt a slight pang of regret as Yahoo decided to scrap Geocities. Gone is a feast of animated .gifs, non-seamless repeating backgrounds, neon colours and crazy visitor counters. Do not fret though, I have been trawling the web to provide you fine people with a few sites that are so truly terrible that they actually fall into the “Brilliant” category.

This month is bermuda-traingle.org, a website that is so incredibly appropriate that it defies belief…

Bermuda Triangle

I’m not sure whether it was intentional but it seems so apt that the site is nearly impossible to navigate. With link text placed over images and dotted all over the site, it gives me a headache just trying to work out where to go. At first glance, the absence of truly terrible .gifs is disappointing but some perseverance and scrolling and you’ll find them, oh yes! And the obligatory visitor counter??? Yep, perfect.

A hearty congratulations to Gian J. Quasar for creating such an apt and brilliant monstrosity. I love it.
